Founded in 2019, the University Badminton Team is the first official University sports team of CUHK, Shenzhen. At present, the University Badminton Team has 20 athletes.

Led by the head coach, the Team keeps scientific and systematic training in their spare time during vacations. In May 2019, the Team participated in the 7th Annual Sunny Sports Badminton Competition of National College Students on behalf of the University, and the women’s team gained the sixth place. Li Yuqing and Qin Jiajun, the representatives of women's singles and men's singles, won the titles of “Excellent Athlete”. In May 2021, the Team took part in the Badminton Championship of College Students of Guangdong Province. The representative of men's singles, Hong Canjian, won the sixth place. In November of the same year, the Team competed in the School Badminton League (Finals) & Championship of Guangdong Province, got fabulous awards of women's champion, the third and fourth places of mixed doubles, the eighth place of men's team and men's single. In the 11th University Games of Guangdong Province, which held in June 2022, Shen Siyang gained the fourth place of women’s singles.

At present, most of the team members have received TOP university offers to continue their postgraduate studies.

leong Wen Hao: former Malaysian junior badminton team athlete, champion of men's singles and men's doubles in the Malaysian Youth Badminton Open; runner-up of mixed doubles in the first stop of the Malaysian National Badminton Tournament. 

Previous Honor:

October 2023  - Shenzhen School Badminton League (University Group) (1st prize in Men's Doubles, 3rd prize in Women's Doubles, 3rd prize of Men's Team, 3rd prize in total points)

November 2022 - School Badminton League of Shenzhen (2nd place in women's doubles, 3rd place in men's singles, 3rd placed overall team ranking).

June 2022 - the 11th University Games of Guangdong Province (4th place in women’s singles)

November 2021 - School Badminton League (Finals) & Championship of Guangdong Province (women's champion, 3rd and 4th places in doubles, 8th place in men's team and men's single).

May 2021 - the Badminton Championship of College Students of Guangdong Province (Top 6 in men's singles)

May 2019 - the 7th Annual Sunny Sports Badminton Competition of National College Students (top 6 in women's team match, Award for Sports Ethics)
